Tickets can be reserved up to one month in advance. This ticket covers your admission to the Museum and all of the special exhibits. Your ticket time is your anticipated arrival window. You do not have to arrive at your exact time, and you are welcome to stay during the open hours of the Museum, regardless of ticket time.

If you are registering for a group visit (PreK-12, MSU Classes, Groups of 10 or more) please contact us at museumed@msu.edu or 517-432-1472.

What to expect

  • Our complete list of exhibits and galleries is available at https://museum.msu.edu/
  • Parking Information: Limited metered parking is available in front of the Museum and in nearby parking structures, including the Grand River parking ramp (Ramp 6). MSU ramps and lots are open to the public after 6pm Monday–Friday and all day on weekends, except game days. Paid parking is also available throughout the City of East Lansing (rates in effect 8am–3am Monday–Saturday). View parking map
  • Typical museum visits are about 60-90 minutes, and we want you to feel like you can go at whatever pace is comfortable for you. Your ticket time is your arrival window—the museum will open at 10:00 am and close at 5:00 pm. Keep this in mind when you are planning your visit. If you miss your arrival window, we will do our best to accommodate your visit depending on capacity.

Reflecting recent changes in MSU policy, museum visitors will no longer be required to wear masks or provide proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test to visit the MSU Museum. Beginning with the summer semester on May 16, MSU is lifting its face covering directive, and masks no longer will be required during classes and in academic and research labs. There still may be unique situations where masks may be required, such as in campus health care faciitities or due to state/federal regulations or contract requirements.

If you have questions, please email msuminfo@msu.edu or call the Welcome Center at 517-355-2371.

Assumption of Risk

We have taken enhanced safety measures for our visitors and staff. You must follow all posted instructions while visiting. The novel coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic. The COVID-19 virus is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. According to the Centers for Disease and Prevention, senior citizens and guests with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.

By visiting the MSU Museum, you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Let's do our part to keep our community healthy and safe.
