Smithsonian Regional Youth Summit

This event is no longer on sale.

Tuesday September 21

3:00 PM  –  5:00 PM

On September 21, the Smithsonian will host its annual National Youth Summit in conjunction with the Girlhood (It's Complicated) exhibition at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, which is on display through the end of the year. The Summit will include live webcasts, discussion prompts and facilitation strategies, and a scheduled time for select partners from across the nation to host a localized Regional Youth Summit. We’re pleased the MSU Museum, an Affiliate of the Smithsonian, was chosen as a regional partner.

To present this program, the MSU Museum is collaborating with both the MSU Broad Art Museum and WKAR. It is our plan to center this discussion around the forthcoming exhibitions at both museums. This includes the Per(Sister): Incarcerated Women of the United States exhibition at the Broad, and the Tracked & Traced exhibition on mass surveillance at the MSU Museum. Our intent is to explore these exhibition topics and their impacts on young women.
