Discover the uses of common chickweed (Stellaria media), a humble yet nutritious and delicious weed that thrives in Michigan gardens. Join the Beal Botanical Garden and MSU Museum to learn about and forage this plant, one of the earliest to emerge in the spring. Participants will learn how to identify the plant, harvest it, and make a chickweed salad to sample.
The MSU Museum CoLab Studio is pleased to present a slate of programs and events in conjunction with the Food Fight! exhibition on display in the Main Gallery from January 9th to June 29th, 2024. The exhibition and programming explore the themes of global food security, food production and consumption, and our complex relationships with food.
